After months of confinement, we have one single desire: to get outdoors. What do we choose? The sea? Beaches scattered all over Sicily, forget about plexiglass igloos! Because here, social distancing is natural!

Majestic Mountains and Natural Beauty

Do we prefer the mountains? We have the majestic Madonie, the Peloritani, the Nebrodi, all the way to the summit of the highest active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna. With its nearly 3,300 meters of height and 1,200 km² of surface area, we could walk for days without ever meeting each other.

Enjoying the Simple Pleasures

Do we enjoy eating? In Sicily, we have many of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Life in these villages is still like it used to be, respecting the traditions we rediscovered during this quarantine. No lines, no chain restaurants. You can buy a sandwich made with genuine, locally-sourced products and have a picnic in the countryside, enjoying a bucolic panorama in absolute silence.

In conclusion: dear Coronavirus, Sicily and Sicilians have been waiting for you. Now it’s up to us to be diligent. Now it’s up to us to be ambassadors of this virus-proof way of life.
